Here's an interesting side light to your statement, which I agree with....!

My father was an economist with a MA from Stanford and Harvard taken both by 1948. Part of his studies involved theoretical research into the ongoing study on how market crashes could be contained. I remember him saying... "The markets will never crash again as they did in 1929."

Greenspan has done all right given the facts as presented throughout his tenure. But he does not have the young imagination to see the future, which will be totally different then anything his bench marks can recognize.
For that matter, I doubt anyone who gets his job will have that presence either.

Lets See if the markets return or if this is a nascent event indicative of future problems.
