New York, April 14 (Bloomberg) -- A comment on activity in the U.S. stock market as the Nasdaq Composite Index extended its decline to 33 percent since March 10. The index plunged 269.57 points, or 7.3 percent, to 3407.21 in mid-afternoon trading: ``You have one of those situations which rarely occur,' said Barry Hyman, chief market strategist at Ehrenkrantz King Nussbaum Inc. ``Crash-type behavior. Illiquidity. Indiscriminate selling. Fear. Institutional selling. All signs of market breakdowns, yet all signs of market bottoms. ``We are in the market more aggressively than we have been in a month or two buying the tech stocks,' he said. Hyman's picks include Nortel Networks Corp., PeopleSoft Inc., Oracle Corp., and Microsoft Corp. -- ``techs with earnings,' he said. ``We are adding to tech and will continue to add to tech as the market drops,' he said. ``I think we're closer' to an end to investors fleeing stocks, Hyman said.
