I am beginning to invest, and the long-term thing appeals to me. In evaluating CSCO, I find that it is trading at a PE of an outrageous 165, even after the recent correction. This is backed by revenues that seem to have grow steadily at a 50% clip for the last 2-3 years.

So, it seems that for a newcomer to the stock, this is still a way overpriced stock to get into, even at these levels.

I am sure I am using too simplistic a measure, but still, seems hard to justify a market cap of $400B for sales of $12B.

Looks like whoever got in a few years ago are realizing the fruits now, but newcomers are not necessarily going to see the same or even moderately reasonable results.
