quick review of this week-ends Barron's article from Yahoo. I haven't read the article myself. tech90817: Barron Article by: rbs36542 (F/Gulf Shores, Al) 4/15/00 4:05 pm Msg: 26724 of 26754 The Barrons article is on Barrons Online but I think that you have to subscribe to be able to read it. I would cut and paste but have never done that so I will just tell you about it. The article offers the the advantages and also the disadvantages of four online brokers that bypass browsers and give customers direct link to their trading desk. The brokers include CyBerCorp, MyTrack, On-Site Trading and TradeCast. The paragraphs on MyTrack: "MyTrack, provided by Track Data, has a "one-click trading" function that takes you quickly to a trading screen, where you can buy and sell stocks, options and futures. There's a wealth of charting funtionality, provided by AIQ, and you can follow mutual funds(although you can't trade them here). You can also follow foreign markets. This is one of the easier programs to use. However, theres so much here that you'll probably need weeks to find all the bells and whistles. MyTrack is running a contest that helps new users get comfortable with the software before they start to use their own money. You also can chat live with someone in tech support if you have a problem. Additional data feeds are available at different levels, based on whether you're a Silver, Gold or Platinum member" The article was very informative in listing the pros and cons but suggests that using this type of onlince broker service is more for the person who trades frequently. I hope this helps - Rebecca --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
