DK, The great flood happened so long ago, there is little concrete evidence of it except for the sighting of the ark on Mount Ararat by WW2 German fighter pilots, and a couple of other reputable people. Geological evidence has been published, somewhere, indicating the disaster to the two twin debauched communities did happen. Some who have visited the area, say there is an, unexplained column of salt still standing. I've never been there so, have to depend on their word for it. How it happened, no scientist has a clue. The fall of the Roman Empire is a historical (since the "h" is pronounced, a instead of an is proper) fact that was made possible by the citizens of Rome being so humanist, and decadent, that when what little guard that was left after the decimation of the military yelled " There are Vandals at the gates", everybody was so intent in their pursuit of pleasure, that they just didn't care. By the time the sacking of the city was complete, it was a little too late. The events depicted in the Bible may be myth to you but, are fact to millions of others, so don't feel so smug. Being smug is the ultimate in egotism. ~H~

"Do you seriously believe that people can turn into salt, and the entire World was
flooded, killing nearly everyone?"

I can pour salt on a slug and turn it into goo. Same ballpark.

It is certainly possible that at the time this account originated, the "known" world was destroyed by a flood.

Take yourself back to the age these stories were being told, Delbert. Would you like to explain TV or Windows 98 to those people? I think YOU might end up being the "hocus-pocus", silly bastard in the room. Think about it.

BTW, had any strange lately? New year's eve don't count.
