Again, you are right on. I "use" all of my fellow Gemmers for companionship, for their knowledge, insights, laughter, and yes, I love the game, the wins and goofs too. Every wrong choice in action has taught me more than the right choices..although the right choices are more wealth producing:)
What have I learned this past month? Pay attention to that gut instinct, and sometimes one has to see the glass as half empty and not half full..I should have sold more shares of my favorites and not been optimistic about each new day as the end of the bleeding. The writing on the wall was written in capital letters in the technicals, the P&F charts, the mood, atmosphere and comments of the "penguins" and commentators, etc. I have a lot less in my portfolio now to work with..thanks to this market coinciding with TAXES, gifts to my kids for a 50% down payment on their first house, paying off auto loans for others.(they will pay me back at a more reasonable interest rate than the bank had given them!)
I'm looking forward to building it back up with the help of Jenna and the Market Gemmers, all of whom I enjoy so much on this thread. I love the challenge, love the learning, and hope that this time next year I have the same situation with having to pay capital gain taxes!
