How long? How quick are you? I usually have an entry and exit point, and I watch my short more closely. If your short runs from you and you're down/out 7%, let it go, and move on.

Keep a close eye on the markets Monday and stay short as long as the market edges down. Just play the futures (QCharts: SPX.X). I also eye momentum stalls. CTEA reported very strong earnings and in this down market, a sell-off will probably ensue. All technical indicators say CTEA is way overbought.

Scrumpy predicts a maximum of three to four days of additional tech sell-off, if that, and if the techs start to bubble up, I doubt people will flock to CTEA (or the exact opposite will happen). You'll see institutional buyers, but this short could pan out.

Abby Joseph Cohen spoke positively about current tech valuations and Greenspan might behave Monday pre-empting a rally.

NYSE stock ... what can I say? AMD went from -$.88 cents a share to +$1.15 and even it sold off.
