Well Tio Franco, CSCO has often been dubbed THE ultimate Buy and Hold Stock. And for that reason, I have actually kept a core position in CSCO in that category for a long time. Nevertheless, even before today, the last few weeks, even months have made me wonder. After all, I have seen that core position take a 30% hit off its recent 80+ high.

This morning, before the market opened, as I watched the weakness continue to increase, I realized I would be facing a margin call by the end of the day if the stock were to close below 60 1/2. So, just for the hell of it, I took my otherwise trading position of CSCO acquired this week, sold it at the open, and then proceeded to take Mr. Chamber's truly quality company and went in and out of it more times than a Tijuana crack ho' (25 sells followed sequentially by 25 buys). Note that because of the respect this company commands, my last trade was a BUY...at 55 9/16

At the end of the day, I finished with that original trading position back in hand and no margin call, despite the fact that the stock closed at 57.

My only two regrets were that I didn't do this with my entire CSCO position and that I didn't start doing this much sooner.

It is a harsh market indeed that can de-flower even the most pure of Virgins.
