Joe,

<How do you see it on RTQ? And what's stopping you from applying appropriate amount of scepticism to anything you see on I-watch?>

Very valid points. I am stating what I think doesn't mean it is the absolute truth. I feel comfortable with my assessment unless someone can provide me with a stimulating argument to change my thinking. Looking forward to one.

<Maybe what you are describing was the old way of doing things on Nasdaq, with market makers, and all that. It was obviously a corrupt system, and every time you participated, you got ripped off a little bit by the system.>

To be sure, old NASDAQ was terrible but it is not like NYSE is all clean. There was a case of NYSE specialists being indicted for front running customers as recently as mid-99. This is a case where someone got caught and I think it is safe to say that there are lot of others who do things that are illegal and do not get caught and whole host of others who don't break the law but push the envolope - it is just business, these folks are there to make money anf if they find a way to do it they will.

<Could it be that you want to see manipulation, and whatever you happens is just further evidence of manipulation. Consider this:
* stock trades lower in the morning, then rallies and keeps going up - You would say: see, it was manipulated. The "big boys" all loaded up at low prices.
* stock trades higher in the morning, later tanks, and keeps going down - see, the "big boys" manipulated the stock in order to sell high
* there is virtually no movement of stock on a very large volume - I can't see how it is not being manipulated.>

You have a point but you don't see me making those arguments, do you? But, if you have noticed what I post over the last year, I am not much into conspiracy theories.

<I hope you could come up with something more objective. What you are saying is all vry subjective: >

I agree that it would be nice to have something objective but I suggest that if such data exists to an outsider like me then manipulation would not occur.

<You feel that way because you feel that way, and you can't see why everyone else doesn't see it the same way.>

Nope! It is not a "feel" thing. I tried my hand at trading most of last 12 months and I spent a lot of time trying to increase my odds. What I am saying is a result of spending a lot of time in trying to understand what makes these moves happen.

As I said, it may not be the truth, and thanks for sharing your opinion.
