the significance of the ATI agreement has been overlooked hi stew, funny i was just swapping e-mails with a friend about that very subject a few minutes ago. seems it doesn't matter now if tv/pc or pc/tv convergence wins the eyeballs....gmst is there both ways. and the similarity for the user whether on the tv or the pc will make life easier. suppose i'll have to replace my ati all-in-wonder card now. brilliant strategy...absolutely brilliant. wonder what the revs to gmst per each card will be? can you imagine say another $3 - 10 bucks for every pc with a tv tuner card. unclewest edit....plus folks watching tv on the pc will be in the ad rev headcount.

NY Stew (not to be confused with that NY Stem guy :o) OFF TOPIC Have you heard of AgileVision, manufacturer of new digital TV equipment? I'm curious if you have any feedback, their technology is getting good attention, and it is still very early in the industry. Here is a link, I found it while searching for Standards in the industry: agilevision.com And a press release from last year: agilevision.com I'm wary of the general market still, I see potential for much more carnage, until REAL PAIN is felt. So far, as much as it has done damage, this appears to be margin-grief at this stage. I'm cash until I see a follow-through day, unless that starts to creep up on the time frame of the merger being complete. Then I'll juast have to take a possible chance. Regards, JB
