Eagle and Spirit: I would like to agree with both of you , however, this technological year has seen such dramatic events, I find it hard to say if we could mechanically follow tried and proven past market strategy. We are seeing already that the bottom that everyone thought we were going to experience by now --hasn't happened, inpart because IMO we are seeing the new era of internet investing that wasn't here in previous market years.

There has always people that are new to investing, but the internet has made it so accessible that anyone can, experience or not. In a normal market it's tricky enough and then along comes this high tech world and hundreds of IPO's and the list seems to go on and on. Many will panic making matters worse.

This is all just my observation, FWIW. Maybe after this year settles out we can use this one as the new standard.. I'm waiting it out myself. I must say it is exciting and a little scary to be a part of history and even a little courageous.

Eagle, there was a sign, a classic TA signal of the top, which I now regret ignoring. I should have sold everything and stepped aside, instead I held core holdings in several techs and some small caps. And then there were Rande's warnings. Take a look at this chart. It might be a little hard to see but the second top in March came on lighter volume, an ominous sign and a sure signal to sell. We were given two chances to exit the market at the top and how many took either of them? There is a lot of regret. I have my share of it, but hopefully there will also be some hard lessons learned that will be foremost in our minds next time we think about waiting for those few extra percents.

And a history lesson...one of last year's high fliers that made a double top and sold off going from 90 to 30. Sound familiar? I wish I had pulled this chart and similar others so that I would have been prepared for the depth of this selloff.

We'll do better next time, I'm sure of it.
