Jill, you sound like a contrary indicator

your QQQ put idea sounds perfect if the hands of time turn backward
in 1994 I had several of these backward trades
they all blew up in my face

if you have a 6-12 hour time horizon, then they might profit

with carnage 90% complete, the next moves will be buying
how much more potential damage can be done?
who can be served up to the guillotine next?
who has heavily used margin and still is standing?
with all the anecdotal reports I have heard, I dont see much more potential for wresting shares from margin holders

after a buying vacuum comes a buying storm
just like with the weather
the barometer fell hard toward end of week
