agree completely...cash is king now...why even think about second or third tiers when first tiers are at a 50-75% discount...when the carnage is over, the first tiers will start the slow ascent but it wouldnt surprise me if none of the second /third tiers ever came back...look at B2C and u can see the future of crappy B2B and software co's...i agree with many japanese fund mgrs when they say that 9984 needs to refocus their business plans...their 3:1 split was a desperate and exercise in futility...they need to focus on co's that can turn PROFITABLE within a few yrs...sales growth without profits will be punished from now on imo...the chart on AMZN says it all...monday am should get ugly, but hopefully by the afternoon, the slow recovery process will begin...imo the selling pressure will ease after monday...bet alot of people sold stocks on friday for taxes and from margin calls...kinda funny to think that in a few short months this thread went from giddy bliss to uncomfortable reticence...as for myself, although im down huge, since i do not have any of my own money in the mkt anymore, its all gravy at this point anyway...the games u have to play from weeping like a schoolchild<ggg>.

Jay, to me its more like a game of limbo after wrapping up a particularly wild and great party . . . as opposed to your description of the Unreal Tournament.

After a dinner with friends, all consumed (not the feast mind you) in market misery, half of us decided to rejuvenate and go boating very early this morning. Amongst others, the cast of characters included a Cardiologist, an attorney and a CPA.

Interesting how dinner conversation focused on the quake and state of things, where todays action was the after-shocks, picking up the pieces and new strategies for going-ahead with existing plans.

The cardiologist was beeped, twice. Anxiety and health related, serious problems. The attorney and cpa's portables were ringing . . . strategies, restoring & contingency plans discussed, capital preservation and attempting to restore values, etc. etc. (Blew the heck out of our rejuvenating adventure.)

All the while, I kept thinking, just how low can you go?? The party was long, wild and fun and all participated in the game. Those nimble and in good shape were able to weasel out from under the bar. Those not so nimble, out of shape (read: experience) and not particularly used to maneuvering the bar to that degree were stuck under it and forced to play it out. Everyone who played woke up sore this morning.

Maui will happen, no doubt. Perhaps it will take a little longer to get there. But please, when we celebrate forget the limbo!
