Felix, re: Intel Capital

Although I'm sure the portfolio has taken a huge hit, it only reflects in earnings when Intel sells a position. Then the capital gain or loss is applied for or against earnings.

Felix, I don't think it's a positive <ggg>. Just to give you an example, Compaq has a large stake in CMGI which was acquired when they sold AltaVista. CMGI has gone from 163 to 52...

Felix et al, on Intel Capital:

1) I think they sandbag what they claim to be unrealized gains (holdings) considerably so as to not be vulnerable to the market whims.

2) Whatever they report for Q1 won't have been liquidated in the past few days, rather such gains would have been realized throughout the quarter, during most of which the market was up.
