Mad2, Yes, things can get much worse. My mental image last night was of Martha Stewart sitting on a showcase couch muttering to herself... "Oh yes, Steve Case can cash out for millions. Bezos cashed out. Even Gates got to sell just before the court ruling. But when it's my turn? Geez Louise! Woe is me. Why does everything happen to me. Alas and alack!" <g> Of course I'm presuming that Martha Stewart is one of the stocks coming out of lockup shortly, but I really don't know. And, of course, this is with all due respect and apologies to Martha Stewart whose name I used merely to illustrate a point. KJC

It was a buy opportunity. The Comp hit the mid retracement line 2 times, 3851 as early as Apr 19th and close 3860 as at friday with upside next week. Several stocks left their downward sloping channels sideways and mildly up also the comp left the channel on friday. Time to draw a new chart. In any case the next stop for the techs could be near 4500 after it passes 4000. As the techs look invulnerable to inflation (but not to the lack of growth, and there is no problem right now) rather than the "old economy stocks", there must be room for more upside come July. This, however does not apply to "value stocks" which should sag and eventually put the daou to 9500 if not lower.
