OT: Taking Cuba by force. I don't THINK so! Imagine what the rest of Latin America (and the rest of the World!) would think of that. I still remember all the "Yankee Go Home" posters in Venezuela when I was there about a decade ago. Obviously JMHO.

Dear Annette: We TRIED that once. The Cuban people in Cuba sat on their hands and watched and we ended up looking pretty silly in the World. No need IMHO to take it by force. Had we not pursued this ridiculous isolation policy and merely had normal relations with Cuba as we do with nearly every other country friend or foe they would have switched by now. In my judgement, based upon a lifetime of living near Cuba's shores we play right into Castro's hand by our past and current policies. JDN
