Rande, just one more quick point re: your margin scenario You're forgetting about one thing on your 4th day 2 to 3:30 scenario. Let's say Joe Investor bought ABCD on Friday at $100. Goes to $60 on Friday generating a maintenance call. But then it goes to $20 on Monday. Do you think they're waiting for Wednesday to sell it? NOT A CHANCE. It's gone Monday the minute the account gets so low the broker thinks they have a chance of losing money. Period. As for the 2 to 3:30 period, let's just say I am 100% positive that they sell at any time they want. Trust me on that one. (ouch). And plenty of shit gets sold at the open too. Big time.
