If you hold what you have, the question is only how quickly will you be back up to where you were. Where that was, wasn't earned. It was a great expectations illusion, but it will be earned . The NAZ broke out on the upside unexpectedly and justifiably. It moved because the mindless public moved it and moved it correctly. What we have now is the "shake-out" where all the liars, cheaters, and greed bound fools who jumped on board are eliminated. The DOW mostly didn't follow the break out because it is "old economy". That's where the bear lies in wait. What do those companies have for the future? Many think they have infrastructure, but that was never the issue. The issue is the cost to deliver that infrastructure. The dinosaurs can't do it cheaply and don't want to adapt to new ways of doing it. They couldn't if they wanted because they are effectively controlled by employee mobs. They can't get price competitive in the new way to deliver new infrastructure doing much of the old and at a much cheaper cost. They either have to change or die. There's the true bear market. The question really is how much of that old infrastructure is necessary anyway? Our economy is going to find out because that's part of the evolution of capitalist economy. Since you are invested in the "new economy", it's only a matter of time before you make loads. There's only one rub. You think it is so desirable to be "retired". All the world wants to be retired so that they can do what they want to do and have fun rather than work. This is so puerile that it's hard to believe it comes from adults. You're going to find that being retired is a trap just like any dinosaur discovers about the result of their advancement to extinction. Retirement is like going to prison or hobby heaven. Swell.
