Point taken, since you are by far the least strident of the bears (and far less strident than most of the bulls as well). As a defender of AMD, however, I still believe you must have a small bias...

It looks like most of the cost issues which you have indicated are concerns have been addressed. The RDRAM apparently can be tested more efficiently than the DDR
or even regular SDRAM. (Tanisys)

The Sony application has demonstrated the cost effectiveness of a high performance system implemented
with RDRAM. (PS-II)

THe small price differential for RDRAM on DELL workstations and Dimension desktops is now between $100 and $200 per system. Next quarter I am sure it will be even less.

The cost of RDRAM is coming down fast as the semi houses move up the learning curve. All the talk about the difficulty of manufacturing the product can be dispelled by Tate's estimates that 8-9 M units shipped in the first quarter.
