Please tell the athm lords that you were only kidding with the 'no way on earth' stuff,

We've gone from 40 to 20 in about 2 weeks. Whats it gonna do in the next two weeks- drop another 20 points?

A while back I said ATHM would start outperforming the market only if they got great news or a washout in the market. We got good (not great) news and the washout.

For the last 4 months it has not had that much to do with ATHM or its management. Its simply that the money was going into stocks that were going up and not into the ones going down. In retrospect despite the latest selloff I'd say they were right if they got in before the start of the year.

Now its a different ballgame. There are almost no stocks going up. The insitutions are going to start pulling out financial analysis and look for strong revenue and earnings growth. Heck- some may even think about P/E again.

ATHM's P/E on 2001 and 2002 estimated earnings are astoundingly reasonable (~55 and ~30). Growth is tremendous. When people start doing scans ATHM will be up near the top of the list.

We have to wait for the dust to settle though. I'm thinking early summer.
