There is another difference between JDSU and GM: a person without a high-school diploma can work in GM; in JDSU, you probably need a MS.

At root this is a discussion of valuation.

GM with annual revenue of 181 Billion has a market capitalization of 51 billion.

Compared to JDSU with an annual revenue 673 million and a market capitalization of 57 billion.

For GM price to sales is .3
For JDSU price to sales is over 60

The difference of course is growth and the future. GM is being regarded as a future buggy whip or at least a cyclical while JDSU is the future and on the leading edge.

However, on days like yesterday I am not sure anything as any value at all.
