OT RE:Tim, I would prefer lower rates with almost no deductions or credits. Maybe a flat tax, with total income times x % = your tax bill. We were reasonably close in 1986 to that kind of system, but the politicians can't help themselves. They like the corrupt system of high tax rates, and a system of trading deductions and exceptions to rules for campaign contribution, votes or personal freebies. Joe Its unfortunate. The price we pay for all of this is less economic efficiency in the US combined with some loss of personal freedom and a lot more work at tax time. Tim
