Nicholson: As Clinton and Gore Politicize Tragedies, They Panhandle from the Hollywood Elite That Made Them Possible
WASHINGTON, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Republican National Committee Chairman Jim Nicholson issued the following statement today in response to the president's radio address on youth violence:

``For seven long years, Bill Clinton and Al Gore have shamelessly politicized and taken advantage of national tragedies, ignoring the culture of death that is at the root of youth violence in America today -- a distorted culture being contrived by the films, television programs, and music videos that pass for 'entertainment' in the twisted, coarse and profit-driven Hollywood of today.

``Rather than using their formidable influence to affect the producers, writers, directors, investors, actors and actresses who are so supportive of them, Al Gore and Bill Clinton have instead chosen to play the role of panhandlers among the Hollywood elite. In short, they have treated these purveyors of popular culture much as they did Indonesian money magnates, Buddhist nuns, and Chinese Generals -- as ATMs for campaign cash.

``Once again, tonight, in fact, Bill Clinton and Al Gore will stage a reprise of their Hollywood dinner act, putting their hands into the pockets of those who manufacture the movies, music videos and compact discs that twist our children's minds, coarsen their conversation, and darken their thoughts. Congratulations, Mr. President and Mr. Vice President, for once again showing us exactly where you would take us on your 'Bridge to the 21st Century.' To borrow from Hollywood, it is 'A Bridge Too Far.'

You forgot the MEDIA driving the " How high can this market go before it collapses" every night on all 4 networks for the past 3 weeks.
The media is as much to blame as anyone else for this fiasco. Instead of reporting , they theorize and opinionize each and every story. Look at Elian and Jon Bennet. It's all hype for a slow news day.
The market is no longer reflected in the DOW.
Do you or anyone you know own the Dow 30?
Most own the new economy, the nasdaq. And those businesses are the engines for the current opportunity's in the economy.
JMHO.
What do you think?
