"Low hanging watermelon " is a variant of "Low hanging fruit" but the substituting "watermellon" as a metaphor for "fruit" signifies even easier obtained business opportunity. To me it signifies " legal monopoly".

Mind you the watermellon is being picked by SUNW and not being harvested by HWP and IBM.

It refers to supplying servers; memory etcetera. It implies a "legal monopoly".

It means 'low hanging fruit' oversized and easy pickin's. It means business is so good, so full of opportunity, they don't need to reach. -JCJ
