The main reason for implementing that option straddle in the first place was to benefit from time decay if the markets failed to move in one direction or another by any significant amount... this way, the same profits could have been generated whether the markets had a big move or not... one way would only have taken longer than the other, that's all..... since the markets moved nicely and reached my initial price objective, I simply saw no reason to hold any positions for that trade group any longer...
