you're right, i was assuming a static market, which is incorrect. i don't know how much the wireless market will grow over the next 3 years - neither do forrester and all the other guesswork artists. if the market doubles, and if cdma's share does go from 20 to 25% (more guesswork), then, roughly speaking, my 8.3% "growth" goes to 16.6% a year for cdma which roughly equates to qcom's growth. no way is qcom's net profit (to use a dirty phrase) growth going to rise 75% a year, which is what the price calls for.

a SI poster checked qcom's patents on the US PTO site and posted 2003. then both he and i began asking all the top posters on qcom here, and no one said him nay. periodically i ask on these threads, which include, you must admit, some people who follow qcom very closely. no one gives another date. this total ignorance leads me to believe he was right. i would be glad if you could give us the correct date.
