lsi gets a p/e of 122 on datek and 221 on dlj do i agree at least one or both may be incorrect. on dlj the pe when real time quote is selected shows earnings of .23 and a pe of 221. when you switch to delayed quotes, earnings are .51 and the pe is 98. don't ask me to explain that one! I am equally puzzled. quicken (delayed) shows pe of 99. since ask is also delayed, it makes sense what you say. most of the pe's were the same whether via delayed or rt. I used RT for my post.

beware the data appears the operating metaphor.

thanks for pointing out the discrepancy -- G

More follow-up and a heads up to my threadmates:

Guardian has addressed what is likely to be the primary point going forward -- the issue of p/e. The Nasdaq is at the beginning of what is likely to be a long term trend toward a more realistic valuation of tech stocks. Selectivity is key.

While I think we will have some tradeable rallies, I'd regard them as just that, until the bottom is placed and tested.

For myself, I continue to stay nearly all cash, with much smaller nibbles on my trading escapades, and vigilant attention to the trades I make. If you're trading without a level 2 screen, you could easily miss the market turns. I'm equating it to a bull and a bear in a vicious fight. The bull is bloodied and flailing. He's still got some adrenalin rushes left, but after that he's going to need some time to nurse his wounds.

This is all JMO, for FWIW ~
