Tekboy: The current sharp downdraft is an opportunity. Those of us who take the gorilla game approach with some seriousness might wish to think carefully here. The underlying thesis of GG is to find gorillas and kings and hang on until fundamentals change. What fundamentals have changed? That is the basis for reexamination. But stock prices have declined substantially recently. So what to do? To the extent that the choice of gorilla or king was made carefully and the situation in the real world with regard to the companies themselves is still valid on review now, what would be the reason to sell? If there is a good personal reason, fine, sell. If not, why do so? Perhaps the other reason for selling should be examined, better opportunity elsewhere. But this possibility is more likely for those stocks which are neither gorillas nor kings, however. So the real opportunity here may be to look very closely at the non gorillas and kings which many have in their portfolios for a possible switch toward greater potential - especially toward gorillas and kings. If the gorilla and king companies themselves now are as strong as they were a couple of months ago, or even stronger (as I would suggest Qualcomm is for many reasons), then the option would be to stay the course or even perhaps take the oportunity to add to the gorillas and kings in the best relative position. Even if we are not at the bottom or close to it, the question really is what is the likely growth path for the best set of gorillas and kings available to us. Prices, fluctuate. Gorillas and kings grow. (And watch kings carefully - on fundamentals) Best. Cha2
