"is this Fed forcing a MSFT settlement." Dowd: I heard that suggestion by a analyst on CNBC. If the market keeps tanking, this time it will be the fed in the pressure cooker since everyone is blaming them for this sell off and at some point the FED will have to take some kind of action. This is hurting the democrats for the upcoming election, so, the government will have to do something, at some point, that will be good for the market. JH

agree with most of what you say but what is this Fed forcing a MSFT settlement. " John, I don't know about this story, first time I am hearing it. However, if the Feds feel that the health of economy is in danger, they will do what is necessary, including trying to prssure Judge Jackson! I don't know what your hill-billy President has in mind, but he is smart! One things he is great at is survival! (The man to have next to you during a plane crash or in combat! ggg) We have a stock market that has nose dived! We have the danger of inflation, and then we have the elections coming up! The economical crisis destroyed George Bush Sr.'s chance to win the elections in 1992. If the economy moves into a recession, or the marekt crushes becasue of MSFT affairs, the Democarts chances to win th eelction is nill! They will loose the race for the office of the presidnet, the House, and the Senate! Now, Mr. Clinton may not care about the average "pissed-off" John Smith who have lost money in the stock market, but the man is a survivor and wants to help Al Gore win the election. So he will do what is necessary, including picking up the phone and telling Janet Reno to back-off! John, I may not be too smart, but I beleive this is how the things work!
