Good points, Jill. I tend to agree in general. My wife and I go to a lot of social functions. We learned long ago not to discuss politics and religion at such events. Geez, it can sure start a debate.

Hey, Troops, one day I'll have to tell Clinton stories. I know him. Heck, he might even remember my name if we saw each other.... Went to some of the same social and business gatherings he did years ago back when he was the Guv.

Jill, it is interesting that you don't like Republicans attitude towards the poor and disenfranchised. When a democrat promises to help the poor they raise taxes. When a republican promises to help the poor they write a check.

Hi Jill, It is sad, but poverty has increased since social programs were instituted in the early to mid 60's. Until recently, a 15 girl who had a fight with her parents could get her own place and public assistance just by getting pregnant.
I don't know what the answer is. After reading about the lives of 5th generation welfare families, I don't think throwing more money at the problem will help.
