TTOSBT

<<" "Financial institutions should expect
to look to the central bank only in extremely rare situations."">> and he just took some of the fear mentioned here earlier away,, What he is saying is there will be help on the extremely UNLIKELY possibility it is needed but the institution will pay dearly,, I look for no financial institution to need that kind of help and especially no nationally recognized name company.. remember this is not the first time this has happened--

TTOSBT: This rhetoric-Mr. Greenspan also warned that lenders should be careful about assuming that the U.S. central bank will bail them out if "their risk-management systems prove inadequate." is just too phony for words or he is suffering from Alzheimers. Does he forget what he did to accommodate foreigners and Long Term Capital hedge fund? This guy is a joke. He has no time to help the little guys - a spanking will suffice for them. He is worse than Marie Antoinette. He is the typical effete snob that Spiro Agnew defined so richly. JFD
