My thinking is very simple. Its been a bubble. It takes a while to unwind excesses from a bubble. People need to go back to being productive and not checking their stocks every ten minutes on company time.

A return to sane valuations is not "doom and national ruin" ahead. At the same time, 25% returns year on year are not normal either.

One way or another, things will move back to historical norms. Now seems like a good time to finish the process. A quick downdraft hardly seems like enough to complete the process, things will have to grind a lot, in my opinion, before the market will be "healthy" again.

The worst thing that could possibly happen is a return to the spectacular gains of say just a few months ago.

Having said all that, I am nimble and will buy or sell as the charts dictate and I will not act on my musings...
