I would be interested if anyone has any real evidence about who has actually been "wiped out". I see lots of comments thrown around but no numbers. The daytraders go home flat so very few would have faced margin calls. Everyone I talk to in the Mom and Pop category is hanging tough since they made so much last year. If they don't panic and run, the funds won't face massive redemptions. Be careful about assuming a result without evidence. The group that was wiped out were the "I have 75% of my portfolio in CMGI on full margin". So those stocks are less likely to bounce quickly. But you can't extrapolate that to hundreds of stocks just yet.
