OI DIET:

I agree Atkins is not healthy but short term if somebody wants to lose weight and they've had trouble all their lives its probably because of genetics that cause any carbohydrates to put on weight. I interviewed a guy for a woman's mag, Dr. Gullo, who is kind of a diet doc to celebs etc, and I think a modified Atkins short term might be okay, but modified I mean forget bacon and pork rinds and so on. There are healthy fats such as organic meats, game, fish, nuts especially salmon. What bugs me about Atkins is he suggests people eat really junky food.

I also agree about your ratios. Just use olive oil rather than butter, and try eat fish with lots of omega 3s and you'll get fats that actually heal your body and protect it from heart disease etc

I should talk though I just ate chili with cheese for lunch and am spooning down the peanut butter as I write
