Thanks, CJ and Gottfried, for the kind words.

After a lovely evening in SF last night, I woke up this morning and apparently the black-as-pitch devil in my sub-concious had been chewing on the negative-equity remark overnight. I had the sudden realization that because of the unusual amount of selling I've done over the past few months I'd inadvertently let my cash balance get to a level it's never been at, and it occurred to me that I'd never actually checked on the insurance thing. The paperwork for the account was done so many years ago I've long since lost it, and it's probably out-of-date anyway.

After that, I stupidly did a brain-dump of the entire thread of that thought process into my post and then cheerfully went off for my run. Boy was I shocked to read JFD's response to that post, and to a lesser extent yours (about pushing down the price of the stock).

Well, I'm glad someone finds my nervousness amusing! I talked to my mum today and her advice is cash stuffed under the mattress (but then, that's been her advice for the past 5 years!). I come by my pessimism genetically!
