Since you seem to be a bit more knowledgable in history than me (I barely passed in Highschool history, but, as we get older men tend to watch more Discovery and History channel than we would like to admit)Didn't Abe have a few slaves himself? And even if he was a nice guy, going into politics, god knows what that was like in those times, it would surely corrupt the best of men, to some extent, to reach political goals by dealing with the bad guys. And Jefferson! Well, maybe you may never get it ;>)) Peace
