I need economic growth to continue... --- I thought you were a short term trader who uses 'mathematical analysis' to make money no matter what direction the indecies move. ?? <g> -JCJ

The good news: so many articles are out today in every paper, wire, chat room and website about what's going to happen when the wealth effect ends that, taken together, they constitute a reasonable contrarian sign that it's not going to end.

However, if it does, one thing that disturbs me most is that the Fed will make it worse by lagging. All it would take is another month of CPI acceleration like Friday, which at that point would be just inertial, like your hair keeps growing after you're dead. The Fed would hike us into a recession in May even if the breadlines had already started to form.

On the other hand, I've decided to take keyboard lessons and I'm about to go out and buy a Korg Triton 76-key synth (I already have plenty of amps I can use). Anybody have any cautions or suggestions?
