George, leaders in a bull almost never lead the next bull. That conventional wisdom is something I have heard before and wanted to check out. Unfortunately the best data, comparing the INDU, SPX and COMPX, only takes us back to the 70's of course. I suppose I could look at individual technology oriented names going back farther, but too lazy. So looking at the 87 event, tech provided the fasted bounce although initially the SPX wasn't too shabby either. intelligentspeculator.com With the evidence at hand, I'll probably be overweighting technology again when I'm satisfied the bottom is in. Of course, I'll be plotting one of these charts with live data and may adjust that thinking...
