"especially in view of the fact that 70% of existing cellphones in the world are TDMA"

Hi Jim- I believe of the 469,534,128 mobile phone users, there are 31,759,461 TDMA users. Or roughly about 7%.

Message 12992715

Where did you pick up the 70% figure...Did you mean 7%? Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)

An afterthought to the previous - sorry, the thing about not having a keyboard wasn't well thought out - you'd have to have one.

My favorite design is something like your wallet. You open it up, and there's two halves of a plastic screen. Touch a spot on the screen once, it becomes a display; touch it again, it becomes a keyboard; again, it becomes a dialer; last touch turns it off to save power. Small holes for the mic and speaker give you voice input, or let you listen.
Last month's PC Computing had an interesting article on wireless (no online version) including some of the latest cell phone designs.
