George, if you were in cash, you're one of the lucky ones. don't forget that most 'investors' nowadays are inexperienced and believed the hype WS has fed them. to the denizens of this thread however, i think what happened was only mildly surprising, if at all. many on this thread warned that this market could soon be in trouble...
the damage in the more speculative stocks seems excessive based on their former highs...and yet, i would agree with Shiller that for the average investor it is probably a good moment to take a look at the risk one is willing to take.
by no means has the stock market bubble truly popped yet. but it may well do so...
