"...With IBM, Microsoft and Intel reporting next week, you have to believe investor sentiment on tech is going to turn around. If not, head for the hills, folks, and break out the beef jerky. In the meantime, don't be surprised if a good many of the same companies that made up the bumper crop of 1999 Web IPOs wind up getting acquired. E-tailing's going to be the first one to get rocked -- despite what the upcoming Boston Consulting Group/Shop.org study says about the "state of online retailing."

Futures were up big on last Thursday and look what happened. The futures only tell the opening prices, not the subsequent prices later in the day. Don't let them scare you.
