Re: And what do you think?

Let me preface this by saying I haven't the slightest idea - having said that, here is some imaginative fiction for your enjoyment :-)

A lot of bouncing around but trending down Monday, a bottom on Tuesday. I think we got pushed over the edge by traders who left both final 99 and 1st quarter 2000 tax payments to appreciate in the market as long as possible. Between that money being pulled out and calls being exercised there was a very strong downdraft. Margin calls will keep things down Monday but it will be obvious that some of the pressure is starting to ease. Some of the better issues will begin coming back Monday. If things start getting really ugly Monday, Greenspan will step in (I'm sure he's already received some hysterical phone calls). Once it has been clear for 24 hours that the world is not ending (unless you are one of those who was already wiped out, in which case it has) greed will overtake fear and the markets will begin crawling back - but it won't be like the good old days. The warning has been sent.

Regards,

Dan
