The fact that all the "in the know" talking heads with crystal balls are saying that the market will plunge further leads me to conclude that it will probably do the opposite. Yeah, there might be a few more weak hands and margin players to flush out....but then the upturn will start. Everyone has an opinion on this...and this happens to be what I see when I gaze into my crystal ball.

Good companies like EMC will return to their prior levels.

Here is an update from the guy I use who has been very good.
I'm not going to post his remaks regularly here but in veiw of what is going on thought this would be appropriate:

The NDX is holding the 3160 C-Band level. This is the only one of the three
charts I sent last week that is holding support. What happens overnight may
affect the U.S. open. Hopefully, a rally will start tomorrow.
This is the second wave down on the NDX. Rallies in corrections can be fast
and furious. There are still cycle lows at the end of April,so I am afraid it
isn't over. We need to see a good rally NOW so the next wave down does not
inflict additional substantial pain. This next PROJECTED high will be
coming at a lower high. I do not know the magnitudes, but you have some
price levels in the C-Bands for possible support points. Low number 3 at the
end of April, I am hoping will complete this correction. I assume, as of
today, three waves will be it. Everything could be very oversold there(as if
it isn't now). There are many probable outcomes as to how it may turn out.

and then I look for a big dive on Tuesday in the afternoon. I believe we will be looking at 2500 on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Of course, my crystal ball can get a little cloudy at times

Your crystal ball is far from cloudy. Its downright filthy :-)
