[[Just curious how Taiwan has managed to stay in the black. This country is huge in high Tech. manufacturing.
Phoney figures or market being controlled?]]

Taiwan had a Saturday session, and was down about 5%, at least at one point, with the drop possibly limited by limits on individual stocks.

Regards, Don

Taiwan makes no bones about it. During the recent elections they announced that they would step in on the buy side to support their market. Much of Asia did the same during the Asian crisis. In North America, we still like to portray the markets as being free from govt. interference. We also still lend credence to the existence of the Easter Bunny :).
