Well, you know how reporters are. They all long for their moment in the sun. "As the world's markets crumble" just rings so trippingly off the tongue, how could you expect them to resist?

I am looking forward to reading the New Yorker profile on Greenspan. I wonder just how responsible he, personally, is, for the decision of the Fed to keep up the airdrops. He is Chairman, of course, but is he one among many, or is he the commander-in-chief?
