nihil, John Wilkes Booth was a demented, failure of an actor, who was a Southern sympathizer but, I don't think he could be regarded as a Southerner because his father, Brother Edwin, and he travelled all over the country doing Shakespeare's plays, without really putting down any roots. He was just a nut looking for his fifteen minutes of fame. ~H~

Snagged a factoid off the History Channel the other day I hadn't heard before. Seems Booth's brother saved the life of Lincoln's son. The boy fell of the platform at a railroad station just before a train arrived and Booth jumped down and dragged him out of the way.

So many weird coincidences around Lincoln's assassination.

Abe wasn't much to look at, but you Southerners didn't have to shoot him!
