I have no argument with the math, but fail to understand why anyone would impart such precision into a relative gamble. You gamble that the stock will double - at least - in X years. If you don't buy it because of your limit order being too low you make nothing on that potential investment.

I guess it gives the feeling you're in control, but may
lead to missing some big gains. We had this argument back
in fall of '98 on the AMAT thread. The stock bottomed near
11 [then 22 - there was a split]. Those that held out for a
lower price missed it. AMAT is at 80 now.
