nihil, I haven't read this book. It doesn't look like one I care to either. This particular passage really misrepresents the message of Islam. I suspect the entire book is a misrepresentation of fact and circumstance to further the author's agenda. Islam's message is one of peace and tolerance. Although there are psychotics, thieves, hypocrits, and tyranists, etc. in every community; the mainstream Muslims that I know would never agree that this passage is in the context of Islamic teaching. The only fight permitted is the one against injustice, and only as a defensive strategy. When the one committing the injustice stops, the Muslim is required to hold his mud. I don't speak for dictators and tyrannists who use religion to gain realestate and to raise their own social status (In fact, I would venture a guess that I have said more nasty things about them than you). In fact, I don't speak for anyone but myself. The passage that you posted, however, does not represent the religion, it only represents the author's personal bias. If you are going to post a position on the teachings of Islam I would suggest that for the sake of authenticity you use an Islamic source not an anti-Islamic source. The examples from this passage come from discredited leaders and out of context quotes. tsk, tsk I could make the case that the sun causes darkness and death if I needed to to further an agenda, but not if I were giving an accurate and authentic report on the role of the sun in living systems.
