I am here. And I am wondering if most of the selling has been margin related (day traders/short-term traders)and "professional" (money managers/hedge funds/etc.) related so far.

The weekend could have very well panicked the "average" investor. The one who doesn't use margin and doesn't actively "trade."

If this is the case, then I think we could be in for a VERY serious week.

So many cross-currents:

- Joe six pack and everyone else, including overseas markets have had the weekend to panic

- increased margin selling pressure on Monday

- EVERYONE standing on the wall--like a high school dance--waiting for someone ELSE to make the first move (buy)

- INTC, etc. earnings this week (will it help or hurt? Is the timing so bad that a good Intel number doesn't matter?)

- Supposedly HUGE cash on sidelines. Record mutual fund inflows in first quarter.

- Tax selling over(?)

- Contrarian----If EVERYONE expects it to continue selling off, will big money be buying?

- When momentum shifts to the buy side, will the market be moving so fast that it will be hard to get back in at a good price? What about headfakes?

I feel for people who are just buy-n-hold. And for the short-term/position traders. I am fortunate enough to be all in cash since last week.

But WHEN to buy---that is the question...

Either way, it will be a memorable week. There will be opportunities to make HUGE money. Like always, it is all in the timing.
