zeev, i'll take your lack of an answer to a simple question as fact that you have no answer.

1. did the $75k device have an alternative that worked just as well, for all intents and purposes, for MUCH less money? if not, apples and oranges and it proves nothing.

if so, what kind of numbskull would pay $75k for something of essentially equal value to another product that cost $7,500?

supply CAN'T ramp to levels required to significantly reduce costs unless somebody BUYS the stuff.

the cart goes before the horse.

sure, the fab guys can mitigate an awful lot of the cost issues by producing various kinds of dram in the same fab (the ones that sell as opposed to those that don't ;-).

volume buyers come before the type of volume that reduces prices to within 15%. where are the buyers? why pay even 15% more for a 2% gain here and a 2% loss there?

b/c rdram versions of the future "might" do something better?
